GIGONDAS 2021 CLOS DES CAZAUX Le Souiras - Red wine

A rich and powerful Gigondas red Grenache that is intensely aromatic and elegant, with a long, velvety finish and fresh, silky tannins

100% Grenache from old vines (~60 years old) planted on steep limestone and clay slopes in the southernmost part of Gigondas

Winemaking
Hand-harvested grapes picked at full maturity. 
Grapes are partially destemmed and vinified in stainless-steel tanks with about a 5-week maceration. 
The wine is aged for ~30 months in 300 L barrels (no new oak), which builds complexity and smooth texture. 

Tasting Notes
Colour: Dark, intense ruby with depth. 
Nose: Aromas of red berries, white pepper, caramel, and juniper. 
Palate: Powerful, elegant and velvety, with intense flavors of black cherry, mocha and spice, rounded structure, and very silky tannins
